ENCHANTED POOL : What would you dream?
Looks great. Thankyou.
Beautiful results. Thankyou.
Thank you for this. Can I ask what make this hot air gun is.
This one was a Steinel = very good. But I think their modern ones are electrically calibrated rather than manual twisting for heat adjustment. Good brand.
I see this is from 12 years ago but your eye and the way you describe how you're capturing the grass fence is still perfection! It really speaks to me and will help my process. I love how quickly you can make a sketch with encaustics. Thank you so much! I hope all is good in your world.
Thanks Scarlett - kind of you to find the time to share with me :) ... I'm still adventuring in the realms of encaustic imaginations and finding stories to share there. Be well and good luck in all.
A+++
Thank you so much, you make it all loook so easy…..and such fun. Will look forward to seeing more of your videos. 😘😘
Impressive work
Fantastic- encaustic👍😁👏👏👏
Sjajno 😁 Super 👍😁👍👏👏👏
I'm here clapping. Lol. Love it.
Thanks :)
Beautiful
I have this on a DVD and seen it a few times, I would love someone to do another example on the large Hotplate. A different landscape, maybe adding even more ideas to decorate it using tools etc and hot guns or whatever.
Thanks for putting this video up, once you are into wax painting all these extra ideas to take it further are much appreciated. I have looked at most of your videos more than once over the years and learned so many new ideas to try.
it seems to me superfluous. You are overcomplicating an already beautiful process - watercolor, by introducing a hot plate and waxes that are not necessary. Are you in the business of selling hot plates?
Perhaps the title is misleading - sorry. It is actually nothing to do with watercolour as a medium, but is looking at how a well known paper type (watercolour paper) which is inherently absorbent, can behave in this encaustic wax situation (hot wax colours) compared to a non-absorbent card or paper type. I don't sell hotplates, although I once did. This example in the video is a simple introductory idea (from 2004) to show how the wax colour cannot be removed once absorbed (opposite to using non-absorbent substrates which allow total changeability). Wax as a medium is very versatile and adapts to many situations of use. I totally accept that watercolour as a medium upon watercolour paper is a beautiful process and offers fantastic control combined with a wide ranging array of effects and loose watery approaches too. I hope you see my perspective :) and thanks for making the point.

White is all colors black is void of color
Darkness and vacuums are not _somethings_ , they are the absence of anything.
Beautiful . 😍

artsencaustic, This is great! I liked it and subscribed!
I learned so much from your video! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks :) Glad it has been helpful.
Amazing!!!
They look Beautiful ! May I ask .. what kind of wax are you using ?
These are encaustic art wax blocks : encausticart.com and they do not contain any resins. Easy to use, especially good for thinner substrates like card, paper, etc.
Beautiful
Thanks Jacky
artsencaustic, This made me laugh so much! Thanks for sharing!
.. It's good to laugh, and even better to laugh at yourself ;)
Спасибо за полезную информацию! ❤😍👍💯
Thanks 😀
How hot should the iron be?
Low Margaret. The wax should melt on easily, but not be too runny - a slightly thick type of liquid. The bluegreen colour should run slowly down the vertical face when melted on.
❤ wow. How fantastic is that. Absolutely beautiful. Thankyou. xx
Glad you enjoyed it Deanna :)
That was great 👍 The ' forgotten ' art. I haven't done any for years but now eager to try again. 😀
Glad it encourage you David. There are 13 clips in this DVD from 2003, so look out as they all upload over the next couple of months. Thanks ...
I need to dig out my DVDs. I'm not sure if I have this one.

Hallo Michael, deine Techniken und Inspirationen mit Wachs wünderschöne Bilder entstehen zu lassen finde ich großartig. Vielen Dank. Meine Frage, du bietest deine Onlinekurse in verschiedenen Sprachen an, leider nicht in deutsch. Gibt es da eine Möglichkeit ? Lieber Gruß Christiane
Christiane Gudzent Hello Michael, I think your techniques and inspiration for creating beautiful pictures with wax are great. Thank you. My question is, you offer your online courses in different languages, unfortunately not in German. Is there a possibility ? Kind regards Christiane Hello Christine, Right now I don't have a lot of time or much capability in German. However, if you list in priority order, the courses you are most interested in then at least that will clarify what is wanted :) Best regards, Michael Hallo Christine, im Moment habe ich weder viel Zeit noch beherrsche ich Deutsch. Wenn Sie jedoch die Kurse, die Sie am meisten interessieren, in der Reihenfolge ihrer Priorität auflisten, wird zumindest klargestellt, was gesucht wird :) Herzliche Grüße, Michael
Amazing!! I love the using the iron as a hot plate! Can you please advise what you use to clean your brushes? Soy wax? This also use a specia lkind of paper? Sorry for so many questions!
Any inexpensive wax, like the soy you suggest, or perhaps paraffin wax for instance, can be used heated, to puddle the brush in, and then use tissue to wipe the brush head clean - repeat until it is done to your satisfaction. Any wax still in the fibers will set hard on cooling, but will revert to a liquid when next heated. To remove wax totally you can use a solvent if you wish - but these are highly flammable so be careful.
@@artsencaustic thank you for your gracious reply. I appreciate it.
Happy New Year 2024! Very nice video. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Wow. Some super cool marks & textures there.
The last one looks like a vintage map of a city. Very interesting effects although too many colours mixed on one page for my taste, but love the techniques & experimentation. I was expecting you to use fabric doilies to create stamp impressions (which I immediately thought I’ll try) & fill them with oil paint. 😃
Thanks Allison. Doilies are fun!
Please tell me what kind of blower do you use
I am going to start this medium really excited
.... hope you have a wonderful wax journey :)
I love this
That's pretty clever, I've never seen anything like that. It's beautiful! I'm just learning, studying, soon to start with encaustics. Thank you.
Thanks. Molten wax is an amazing medium ;)
Heel mooi! Prachtigf!❤❤
❤
Looks great. Thank you. ❤
Thank you for your tutorial. My paintings came out beautiful due to you. I have a question. I polish it and it shines but very fast turns dull again. I like the look of when it is polished. Is there something I can use to make it looked polished and how would I put this on. Thanks
Polish it again after a few days with a soft cloth in light circular motions. This second ( or even later third) polishing should kast longer. There is a wax sealer (encaustic art brand) which is applied to a polished wax surface. If the application is finished with small bouncing dabs of the cotton cloth pad used, then there will be no streaks after the sealer dries. The sheen it brings is similar to polished wax.
Love it!💜
